Did you know that the Chief Executive Officer of Dell Inc - Mr Michael Dell started his business back in 1984 with just $ 1000 dollars in an off-campus dorm at the Dobie Center, whilst studying at the Univercity of Texas in Austin.

His company is now in the top two sellers of PCs and servers in the world along with Hewlett Packard.
Dell's headquarters are still in Texas - based at Round Rock and they have achieved a turnover of $ 62 Billion US Dollars.
By any standards that is an amazing achievement. Can it be replicated today - can anyone start a business with just $ 1000 and grow a company that big - I am not sure.
25 years ago Computers were in their infancy - now everyone has a laptop or computer at home or at the place of work - this is because of inovative and courageous people like Mr Dell who worked hard. took calculated risks and made it happen.
And the rest, as they say, is history
